The University of Santiago de Compostela (in Galician and officially University of Santiago de Compostela – USC) is a public university based in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia (Spain), with two campuses located in Santiago de Compostela and Lugo. With more than 500 years and approximately 30,000 students, it is the university with the longest tradition in Galicia, and one of the oldest in the world. Its library, with 1,227,796 volumes, is the fifth largest university library in Spain. The University of Santiago de Compostela has more than 28 faculties and teaching centers, 75 departments and more than 2100 professors and researchers. It offers more than 50 bachelor and diploma degrees, and more than 110 master and doctoral programs. The USC is also part of the Erasmus Program, one of the largest cultural exchange projects, hosting more than 1,000 students from all continents each year in its facilities, allowing them to have the experience of living in a foreign country. In 2009, the USC has been recognized as a Campus of International Excellence by the Ministry of Education, a distinction that places it among the 9 best universities in the Spain.
At each conference, we offer a number of Scholarships to Young Researchers. These are awarded to those outstanding students who have an active academic interest in the area of conferences. These collaborators play a critical role in the conference, moderating parallel sessions, providing technical assistance, participating in informal sessions, and presenting their own research papers. The scholarship, and their responsibilities, offer these students a great opportunity to gain professional development at this stage of their academic careers. Meeting experts in the field, interacting with colleagues from other parts of the world, and forming contacts and friendships with other participants. These are the additional benefits of this scholarship.
Applications will be accepted up to 3 months before the start of the conference.
The list of selected researchers will be published 2 months before the conference date.
Requirements and benefits:
Doctoral students are entitled to free registration and are given special recognition during the conference.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a doctoral program.
- Applicants must have a proposal accepted to the conference.
- It is required basic knowledge of computer technology, data projectors and PowerPoint application.
The awarded must be available at the venue the day before the conference (for orientation and training) and throughout the whole event.
The scholarship does not cover expenses with transportation, accommodation and food.
