Innovation and research in digital education

In the XXI century society, the prevalence of information and communication technologies is indisputable. It is their constant growth and development that has been determining and will continue to do so in the coming times, the progress of all areas in which human beings develop.

In the educational area, the digital evolution and the events of the last two years have marked the way of understanding the teaching and learning process. Thus, after the confinement experienced in the spring of 2020 by all countries, generated by the SARCOV-2 virus, the way of seeing, feeling and understanding the educational act has taken a turn of one hundred and eighty degrees. This has led all the agents involved in the training processes carried out at all educational levels to “reinvent” themselves.

This reinvention process has meant a substantial change in the entire educational system, elements such as e-learning platforms (LMS) began to be understood as something more than a simple space where to deposit documents to be seen as a real communication tool between the teacher and the student.

However, elements such as the lack of training or technological or economic resources have marked all this road travelled, and still continue to do so.
Nevertheless, the restless spirit that characterizes human beings has promoted teaching experiences where innovation has come hand in hand with the creative spirit of students and teachers. On the other hand, research processes have also been affected, in some cases slowed down by the difficulties of access to the field and in others boosted by the possibility of incorporating unimaginable elements or variables that can affect the teaching and learning processes.

This conference aims to give a voice to teachers, students, researchers, educational theorists and practitioners, as well as to the entire educational community and all those interested in the growth of education in general and ICT-related education in particular. The main objective is to create a space to share experiences and concerns both from the perspective of educational practice and from the researcher’s point of view.

On-site presentations

Virtual presentations

Paper

Duration: 15-20 min. Audiovisual equipment available: YES.

HOW IT WORKS

This type of presentation is best suited to work on either academic work or research already done. The authors will present a summary of their work (purpose, procedures, results or products). The presentations will be grouped according to the theme or perspective in thematic sessions (which last 60, 75 or 90 minutes) with a question & answer time and group discussion once all the presentations are finished.

Poster

Duration: 30 min. Audiovisual equipment available: NO.

HOW IT WORKS

This format is ideal for presenting preliminary results of work in progress or for projects that are presented on posters/panels. In these sessions (usually lasting about 30 minutes), authors have the chance to exhibit their work and to participate in an informal discussion with other attendees. Each poster should include a brief summary and indicate the objectives, methodology and conclusions of the work. The dimensions of the poster should not exceed 110 cm tall x 85 cm wide.

Webinar

Presentación en directo.
Duración: 15 min.

HOW IT WORKS

Video

Presentación grabada.
Duración: 5 min.

HOW IT WORKS

Registration

Before registering, check the frequently asked questions and our cancellation policy.

Registration as a listener is free of charge, but it is necessary to register for the conference before June 25.

Universidad de Córdoba

Two centuries of history endorse the trajectory of the University of Cordoba, which, founded as such in 1972, has its roots in the Free University that operated in the province at the end of the 19th century and has centenary studies such as Veterinary Medicine, the only one of its kind in Andalusia. Its youth and its average size – the UCO has 21,000 students, just over 1,200 professors and 700 workers – have given it the necessary dynamism to adapt and enter the 21st century as a University of high teaching quality and proven scientific solvency.

UCO studies range from Humanities and Legal-Social Sciences to Health Sciences and scientific-technical careers. Both research and teaching are understood at the University of Cordoba as the two main pillars of the institution, always with the same goal: quality. In addition to this objective, the UCO is playing a leading role in the development of the European Higher Education Area. Teaching, Research, Quality and Europe are, therefore, the maxims that currently govern the life of the University.
