Ensuring student success in post-pandemic education.

COVID-19, not only generated an impact in the field of health or socialization one by one, but also demonstrated the vulnerability that we have as human beings, impacted on the economies of the countries and taught us new ways of communicating. In teaching, the isolation generated an almost compulsive shift from the classroom task to the virtual environment, even though working in virtual environments was not something new in the educational field. With great differences according to levels, disciplinary domain areas and institutional availability, ICTs have been installed as complementary resources to the face-to-face task. Adapting to change allowed us to recreate classrooms from home in which the interaction formed an educational triad between teachers, students and their families.

Teaching is a somewhat subjective, personal, affective, emotional, and cognitive bond. In face-to-face classes, interaction between students was stimulated, allowing socialization and teamwork. The adaptation through digital media generated at the beginning, an absence in the socialization and interaction between students and challenged the educational institutions to generate strategies that allowed to have the student experience in a different way.

Ensuring the success of students in post-pandemic education is a challenge for universities, since in most educational models, it focuses on learning to receive a grade and is only encouraged to perform tasks for which the extent of the education is unknown. For what and how is it that they will serve as tools to learn about life, putting aside their interests and passion and it happens that they stop stimulating skills that in their first years of life they began to demonstrate.

It should be understood that, to achieve an optimal level of learning, it is necessary to build an appropriate context and an appropriate state of attention and emotion. For this, there are activities that stimulate brain functions, including: physical movement, social contact, music, sense of achievement, personal reward, initiative, play and humor.

The human being will set in motion various cognitive mechanisms that allow him to internalize the information that is offered to him and will also turn it into useful knowledge, such as other ways of learning by capturing stimuli.

Through the years and endless research on human behavior, it can finally be defined that learning is the process through which abilities, skills, knowledge, behaviors and values ​​are modified and acquired, by which a person is it appropriates knowledge in its different dimensions.

The student and her interests must be at the center of our pedagogical development at all times, looking for the best strategies to mark their personal development and train in them skills that allow them to face challenges throughout their lives.

Luis Gutiérrez Aladro – Universidad Tecmilenio (Mexico)

Graduated in administrative computer systems from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he later did his master’s degree in administration and a PhD in Innovation and Educational Technology. In addition, he certified at Harvard University, Babson College and Singularity University. He is certified in Ontological Coaching, Positive Psychology and Positive Organizations.

For more than 20 years he has held different positions at Tecnológico de Monterrey and since 2011 he has been Vice Chancellor at Universidad Tecmilenio, designing the educational model that we have today.

In addition to his managerial role, he has been named as one of the “Professors who leave a mark” at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Instructor and teacher in planning, leadership, creativity and innovation, education, organizations and recognized as a leader in life purpose issues.

He is an international speaker, panelist and lecturer in international forums in Mexico, the United States, Canada, France and Australia. Invited by the government of the United Arab Emirates to the World Government Summit and the Global Dialogue on Happiness in Dubai in 2018.

His life purpose, which motivates and inspires him on a daily basis, is to transform Mexico through Education.

Perla Samantha Rodríguez Mendívil – Universidad Tecmilenio (Mexico)

Graduated in Psychology from the Technological Institute of Sonora, graduated with honorable mention and mention for academic performance. Later, she did a master’s degree in Education at Tecmilenio University, developing extracurricular activities projects to improve academic performance.

It also has Certificates such as Positive Psychology by the Institute of Well-being and Happiness Sciences, the Teaching Knowledge Test by the University of Cambridge and Neurolinguistic Programming for personal and professional development by the Technological and Higher Studies Institute of the West (ITESO)

His professional experience includes the management of the Children’s Attention, Learning, Leveling and Entertainment Center.For more than 14 years, he has held different positions at Universidad Tecmilenio Currently, his main functions are the internationalization processes of university students of the most of 30 University campuses and the generation and strengthening of strategic alliances with international institutions

She has been a facilitator of workshops and seminars in different companies and associations in the State of Sonora and Quintana Roo. She also has experience as a speaker and panelist in national and international congresses and forums in Mexico, Colombia, Lithuania and France.

Cinthya Josefina Reyes Cardeña – National Director of Teaching Experience and Evaluation at Universidad Tecmilenio (Mexico)

Being a teacher, a vocational experience

Cinthya Josefina Reyes Cardeña has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Master’s degree in Economics and Public Administration from UADY and a Master’s degree in Business with a specialization in Human Resources from Universidad Tecmilenio. She has served as professional director and general director of the Merida campus at Universidad Tecmilenio, where she currently serves as national director of teaching and evaluation experience. In addition, she has experience as an administrator at the Institute of Culture of Yucatan and as a trainer in national organizations. She is certified in international negotiations, e-Leadership, Positive Psychology and Positive Organizations, among others.  Part of her studies are based on creativity in the classroom, alternative therapies, music therapy and competencies in higher education. She has facilitated courses and workshops on administrative planning, total quality and organizational communication, as well as motivational talks for company personnel in Yucatan and Campeche. Her life purpose is to positively impact her environment with perseverance and authenticity through the formation of young people with values and social commitment.
